30 Days of Dawn 2.0
Almost a year ago, to celebrate my 30th birthday, we embarked on 30 days of dawn patrol surf missions. This year, to celebrate Steph’s 30th we’re running it back. “I love doing 30 day challenges because you have a time metric that you can easily reflect back on. It's so rare that we are cognizant of changes happening in our lives and when you have a reason to count your days, life stand still a little bit more.
Part of doing this 30 day challenge is to literally just embrace the ocean. There's a certain level of pride and ego that comes with pushing yourself day after day to get up and then explain to someone that we aren't crazy, we’re just committed and we don't have to look at the surf cams because we’re going. Sun or shade. Choppy or glassy. Yelling for joy or yelling at one another. We’re going.
- Dawn isn't a time of day. It's a state of mind.
